During this six hour training you will meet Comfort Zone Camp staff and volunteers who will explain what to expect at camp and how our program impacts grieving children and teens. You will receive education about childhood bereavement, and we’ll give you tips on how to be successful in whichever volunteer role you are selected to fill.


Up to 90 individuals are required for each camp session in a variety of volunteer roles.
You must be 15 years of age to become a volunteer.
Annual updates of health history, confidentiality, and criminal background checks, for those 18 and older, are required. An amount of $25.00 is requested to cover the background check.

Age Range: 18 – 25

Our weekend camps provide young adults with the opportunity to break their isolation and realize they are not alone in a fun and healing environment. In order to be eligible for this camp the young adult must have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or guardian.

The application is written from the perspective of a parent/guardian. Please disregard this and treat it as if it is written from a young adult perspective. Parents/guardians should not be completing this application on your behalf and no parent/guardian signatures are required.

Also, please note that submitting this application does not guarantee a place for you at this camp. You are not accepted into camp until the screening process is complete and you receive an acceptance email.
