During this training you will meet Comfort Zone staff and learn what to expect at camp and how our program impacts grieving children. You will receive education about childhood bereavement, as well as tips on how to be successful in whichever volunteer role you are selected to fill at in-person or virtual camps.
At JCC Manhattan (between 76th and 75th and Amsterdam) in New York City, NY from 9am – 1pm (EST). Lunch will be provided.

Monday Evening Virtual Program for campers ages 10 - 17, (18 if still in high school) who have experienced the death of a parent, guardian, sibling, other relative, or friend.
Program will meet four consecutive Monday (June 19, June 26, July 10m and July 17) from 7:00pm - 8:15pm EST via Zoom.
An optional separate parent/guardian group will take place simultaneously for those whose children are participating.
This program serves children ages 10-17 (18 if still in high school) who have experienced the death of a parent/guardian, sibling, or close friend.
The program is via Zoom from 12pm - 5pm EST (or 9am - 2pm PDT) and will include icebreaker games as well as a small group discussion about managing grief, coping skills, and a memorial service.
